Spen Bearings supply bearings and oil seals of every conceivable type, power transmission products, industrial adhesive and hundreds of other key products needed daily by customers throughout the UK particularly in the engineering, textiles and agricultural sectors.

As well as being a leading independent stockist, the company is also an authorised distributor for many prestigious manufacturers and industry’s most popular specified components. In fact, the company carries more than 20,000 different stock lines. Many items are held specifically for companies who rely on Spen Bearings to maintain stocks exclusively on their behalf.

Customer care is practically an obsession with our highly experienced staff who take great pride in getting it right first time - every time, in order to ensure complete customer satisfaction. This partly accounts for the fact that long-term customer retention is virtually 100 percent.

Trade counters at all four branches are open week days and Saturday mornings. A same day delivery service for stock items is normally available via Spen Bearings’ own transport. After-hours emergency hot-lines are operated every day of the week -52 weeks a year.

When Alf Sharman started a one-man business in Cleckheaton in 1968 to supply local companies with transmission products, little did he realise just how successful his venture would have become a generation later.

Today, with branches in Keighley, Halifax and Micklefield as well as headquarters in Cleckheaton, we distribute thousands of product lines to places throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Western Europe and Nigeria as well as Abu Dhabi, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and South America to name a few.

Still as a friendly, family-run business, we now serve a solid base of some 2000 loyal customers, many of whom have been with us since we started.

Over the past five years we’ve doubled in size - and we’re still growing. We have four full-time salespeople in the field and operate our own fleet of delivery vehicles. And since 1998 we’ve been on line with a state of the art computer system which has speeded things up even more.

Although trading has changed dramatically over the last 30 years, some things at Spen Bearings remain constant - our dedication to personal service; our commitment to give true value for money; and an old fashioned belief that the customer is invariably right.
