When Alfred Sharman left his position at the manufacturer Pollard Bearings to distribute the products he had previously made, little did he realise that over 40 years later his business would still be going strong, and now with the third Generation in-situ, is in a position to continue to grow and prosper for many years to come. His ethos was a commitment to provide quality product with a quality of service unrivalled in the marketplace. His Daughter & Son, Penny and Roger now own the business and along with their children maintain that ethos as core to the business.
This 3rd generation ensures we have the stability and continuity for another 40 years. Spen Bearings Role in today’s climate is based on ensuring we meet the standards required by our Customers of quality of supply and commercial awareness. We also believe that continuous product and service improvements in conjunction with our customers is one of the strengths of the business. Our Customers range from the one-man band to Multi-National Blue Chip Companies, across a multi-facet of industry, Engineering, Industrial, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Pulp and Paper, Machine tool, Aggregates, Offshore, Nuclear and others.
Our Key strengths are our vast wealth of in-house knowledge and expertise in the products we supply, along with continuous product training to enhance that knowledge further. Very low staff turnover means many staff have 15-20 years service with us which is an immense asset along with our excellent stockholding, quite often based on individual customer requirements.
